Maple Brown Sugar Shaken Iced Coffee

⏱️ Prep Time: 3 minutes • 🍳 Cook Time: 0 minutes

When hot coffee feels like too much and a regular iced coffee just isn’t enough, this creamy, sweet, and frothy shaken iced coffee hits the spot. It’s cold, bold, and a little bit indulgent — like your favorite café treat, but made in seconds at home.

A sweet and creamy iced coffee with maple, brown sugar, and a frothy shaken finish

This recipe is born out of sheer necessity — and let’s be real, caffeine cravings. I wanted something with a little extra oomph, but without breaking out the espresso machine or waiting for coffee to cool. So I grabbed a bottle of Starbucks iced coffee (yes, the store-bought kind), added a drizzle of maple syrup, a spoonful of brown sugar, and a generous splash of half & half. Then I tossed it all in a shaker with ice, gave it a good shake, and suddenly... I had café-level iced coffee with the dreamiest frothy top.

The magic here is in the shake. It chills the drink instantly, aerates the half & half, and dissolves the sugars perfectly so it all melds together. Plus, it just feels fun to shake up your own coffee at home — and that creamy foam on top? Chef’s kiss. I use Starbucks' unsweetened iced coffee from the grocery store (linked below), but any cold brew or bottled iced coffee will do.

Whether you're powering through a busy morning or just want a pick-me-up with personality, this shaken iced coffee is the move. Sweet, creamy, strong — and totally customizable.

Ingredients

🍽️ Servings: 1 • 🔥 Calories/Serving: 130

  • ¾ cup bottled iced coffee (I use Starbucks Unsweetened – link here)

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tsp brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp half & half

  • ½ cup ice (plus more for serving, optional)

  • Dash of cinnamon

Steps

Step 1

Add iced coffee, maple syrup, brown sugar, and half & half to a cocktail shaker.

Step 2

Add ice to the shaker and seal tightly.

Step 3

Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until frothy and cold.

Step 4

Pour into a glass. Serve as-is or over fresh ice with a dash of cinnamon!

Make it your own!

  • Make it stronger
Use cold brew concentrate instead of standard iced coffee for a bolder sip.

  • 🍁 Go full maple
Skip the brown sugar and double the maple syrup for a deeper, more natural sweetness.

  • 🥥 Dairy-free twist
Swap half & half for coconut milk, oat milk, or almond creamer for a vegan version.

  • ❄️ Blended version
Add everything to a blender with ice and blitz until smooth for a maple coffee frappe.
