Sunset Patio Guacamole

⏱️ Prep Time: 10 minutes • 🍳 Cook Time: 0 minutes

You know those perfect summer evenings when the chips are crunchy, the drinks are cold, and the guac is so good you kind of forget to eat anything else? That’s exactly what this guacamole reminds me of. It's creamy, zesty, a little chunky, and packed with the perfect balance of lime, cilantro, and a little garlic for that extra kick. Grab a bag of tortilla chips because you're going to want to dive in headfirst.

A rustic bowl of chunky guacamole with fresh cilantro and lime wedges, surrounded by crispy tortilla chips.

When I was younger, making guacamole was one of the first "fancy" things I ever learned how to do. I’d proudly mash avocados with a fork, sprinkle in some salt, a little minced garlic, and squirt plenty of lime juice — and somehow, it always tasted like a million bucks. The beauty of guacamole is that it's supposed to feel a little rustic. No fancy gadgets needed — just a bowl, a fork, and a few real ingredients that know how to make magic happen.

These days, I still swear by this simple, classic guacamole recipe. The garlic brings a mellow richness that pairs perfectly with the creamy avocado and bright lime, making it pretty much impossible to stop eating once you start. Whether you're prepping for a backyard BBQ or just making a Tuesday night feel a little special, this guac never disappoints.

Make it your own!

  • 🥑 Make it extra creamy
Mash one avocado completely smooth before mixing in the others for a creamier base.

  • 🌶️ Turn up the heat
Add extra jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce for a spicier kick.

  • 🍍 Go tropical
Stir in diced pineapple or mango for a sweet and savory twist.

  • 🧄 Boost the garlic
If you’re a garlic lover, add an extra half clove or an extra pinch of garlic powder.
